<p>Upon arrival, we shall ferry you to your first stop: the Pyramids of Giza. There you will set your sights on one of the most magnificent buildings you’ve ever seen. Khufu (Cheops) the great pyramid and its 2 smaller companions will take your breath away. Then its on to the Sphinx in his immutable guardian-of-all-he-surveys stance as he stands still and serene looking down upon the plateau. We will then stop at Pharaoh Khafre’s Valley Temple where his mummification took place. After lunch at a local restaurant, we shall move on to the Egyptian Museum, another repository of fantastic artifacts, consisting of jewels, furniture, everyday objects, mummies and more. We will go on to visit the Hanging Church in the Coptic district, a sight we cannot miss when in Cairo. It was built into the wall above the entrance to the roman fortress of Babylon, a truly strange feat of construction. On we go to visit the 19th century Ben Ezra Synagogue. And just before we leave to go back to Luxor, we shall drop by for a short spell and take a walk in that world-famous bazaar of Khan el Khalili. Let us note that perched on the island of Agilkia, this is not the Temple’s first home. After lunch in Aswan, we shall take another felucca ride to visit Elephantine Island where we will make you acquainted with the Nubian people, the friendliest people in Egypt. We are going to have an early morning start today. It’s a six hour long drive to El Minya. Once we get there, we will immediately start our city tour, which includes a visit to the Great Plain where King Akhenaton got his inspiration to built the city. Before we head back to drop you off at your hotel, we go for a late lunch. The evening will be yours to fill at your leisure.</p>

<p><strong>Day 2 *El Minya-Luxor</strong><br />
This morning you will travel 20 km south of the city to the ancient Egyptian cemetery of Beni Hassan is located. Its tombs date back to the Old and Middle Kingdoms. We will visit the tomb of Bakhet, the great chief of the Oryx Nome (Nome was a territorial division in ancient Egypt), the tomb of Khnumhotep, an official of Pharaoh Amenemh  at III of the 12th dynasty and the tomb of Khety, a governor of the 11th dynasty. We will then move to the northern part of the cemetery, have our lunch at a restaurant and start our drive back to Luxor.</p>

<p>Notre représentant vous retrouvera à votre hôtel de Luxor vers 7 heures du matin et vous conduira à Assouan. Notre première étape sera une visite du temple de Philae, dédié à Isis. Il est important de noter que ce temple était initialement situé à proximité, mais il a été déplacé vers son emplacement actuel en raison de la montée des eaux du Haut Barrage. Ce fut un exploit remarquable réalisé par des ingénieurs et des conservateurs déterminés. Après le déjeuner à Assouan, nous ferons une autre promenade en felouque pour visiter l&#8217;île Éléphantine, où vous aurez l&#8217;occasion de rencontrer le peuple nubien, réputé pour sa convivialité. Leur mode de vie simple et intemporel ne manquera pas de vous charmer. Ensuite, nous vous ramènerons à votre hôtel à Assouan et vous souhaiterons une agréable soirée jusqu&#8217;à notre prochaine rencontre le lendemain.</p>
<p><strong>Jour 2 &#8211; D&#8217;Assouan à Louxor</strong></p>
<p>Après avoir effectué votre départ très tôt le matin (à 3h30) et pris un petit-déjeuner emballé fourni par l&#8217;hôtel, nous nous dirigerons vers Abou Simbel, l&#8217;un des temples les plus impressionnants et imposants de la région. Après un trajet de trois heures, nous arriverons sur place au lever du soleil, offrant une vue humble de ces statues gigantesques qui nous observent du haut de leur grandeur. C&#8217;est un moment qui vous fait véritablement ressentir l&#8217;appel de l&#8217;éternité. Une caractéristique intrigante du temple est que deux fois par an, les rayons du soleil pénètrent dans le sanctuaire intérieur, illuminant trois des quatre dieux. Pouvez-vous deviner lequel reste dans l&#8217;obscurité ? En effet, c&#8217;est Ptah, le dieu des Ténèbres lui-même et le dieu du monde souterrain.</p>

Pendant environ 20 minutes, vous vous prélasserez sur les sables dorés du désert. <p>Notre agent viendra vous chercher à votre hôtel à Louxor et vous conduira sur la rive ouest. Dès que vous entrerez dans la Vallée des Rois, vous pourriez ressentir une sensation d&#8217;esprits fantomatiques voltigeant autour de vous. Ce sont les fantômes des pharaons du passé. Ce site est rempli de tombes de ces puissants souverains de l&#8217;Égypte. Il y a environ 69 tombes dispersées, dont 15 sont ouvertes au public. Toutankhamon, dont vous avez vu ou verrez les trésors funéraires au Caire, est l&#8217;une d&#8217;entre elles. C&#8217;est passionnant. Nous visiterons 3 tombes, conformément à ce que permettent nos billets. Une fois terminé, nous vous emmènerons dans la Vallée des Reines, où une promenade le long du portique du temple funéraire de la reine Hatchepsout vous fera vous sentir royal et fier. Notez qu&#8217;elle a été la première femme pharaon à gouverner l&#8217;Égypte et est restée au pouvoir pendant 20 ans.</p>

<p>Ce matin, vous vous plongerez dans le trésor le plus vaste d&#8217;artéfacts pharaoniques anciens à votre gré. Il vous suffit de vous promener dans les couloirs du musée et de contempler les œuvres d&#8217;art éblouissantes présentées à votre examen. Des bijoux, aux meubles, en passant par les masques royaux, les trônes, les armes et les momies. Laissez vos yeux se régaler de ce festin de richesses. Ensuite, direction Khan el Khalili, le foyer des bazars les plus colorés, imprégné de l&#8217;attar des parfumeurs et des vendeurs d&#8217;épices, et coloré par les teintes des tissus et des objets d&#8217;art qui ornent les vitrines de ses nombreuses boutiques.</p>

Dès notre arrivée, nous entamerons immédiatement notre visite de la ville, comprenant une exploration de la Grande Plaine, source d&#8217;inspiration du Roi Akhenaton pour la construction de la cité. Après un délicieux déjeuner en fin d&#8217;après-midi, nous vous reconduirons à votre hôtel, vous laissant votre soirée libre pour que vous la passiez à votre guise.</p>

<p>Ce matin, vous voyagerez à 20 km au sud de la ville pour explorer l&#8217;ancien cimetière égyptien de Beni Hassan. Ses tombes remontent à l&#8217;Ancien et au Moyen Empire. Nous visiterons la tombe de Bakhet, le grand chef du Nome d&#8217;Oryx (un Nome était une division territoriale de l&#8217;Égypte ancienne), la tombe de Khnumhotep, un officiel du Pharaon Amenemh III de la 12e dynastie, et la tombe de Khety, un gouverneur de la 11e dynastie. Ensuite, nous nous rendrons dans la partie nord du cimetière, déjeunerons dans un restaurant, puis entamerons notre trajet de retour vers Louxor.</p>

<p>Commencez votre excursion avec un transfert depuis votre hôtel par un représentant de Lady Egypt Tours et préparez-vous à profiter d&#8217;une superbe visite des pyramides de Kheops, Khephren et Menkaour. Ensuite, continuez à visiter le Grand Sphinx et le Temple de la Vallée.</p>
<p>Ensuite, direction la pyramide à degrés de Djéser, suivie du déjeuner. Plus tard, transfert à Memphis, fondée par le roi Ménès et capitale de l&#8217;Égypte pendant l&#8217;Ancien Empire. Là, nous verrons la statue de Ramsès II et le Sphinx en albâtre de Memphis. Nous vous ramènerons à votre hôtel à la fin de la visite.</p>

<p>Notre chauffeur et notre guide viendront vous chercher à votre hôtel à Sharm El Sheikh pour vous emmener en confortable 4&#215;4 Jeep à environ 180 kilomètres vers le nord, jusqu&#8217;à la ville côtière de Nuweiba. Vous serez enchanté par ses magnifiques plages de sable et sa vue panoramique sur le port. D&#8217;ici, vous pourrez également voir les montagnes d&#8217;Arabie saoudite de l&#8217;autre côté du golfe d&#8217;Aqaba. Poursuivez jusqu&#8217;au superbe Canyon Coloré avec ses petites cascades formant de petits lacs une fois qu&#8217;elles atteignent le fond du canyon. Ce spectaculaire labyrinthe naturel de roches présente des parois atteignant par endroits 40 mètres de hauteur et est composé d&#8217;un mélange de couleurs allant du violet au rouge en passant par le brun foncé et le jaune. Vous déjeunerez dans une petite oasis située le long de la route, puis retournerez à Sharm El Sheikh. (L)</p>

<p>La Citadelle de Saladin, la Mosquée de Mohammed Ali, le Souk Khan El Khalili, la Coptic Cairo (Le Caire copte), comprenant la Hanging Church, la synagogue de Ben Ezra, l&#8217;église Sainte-Barbara et l&#8217;église Abu Serga.</p>
<p>Ce matin, votre guide viendra vous chercher à votre hôtel et vous conduira à la Citadelle de Saladin, située sur la colline de Mokattam et fortifiée pour la protéger des croisés. À l&#8217;intérieur des murs de la citadelle se trouve la mosquée en albâtre connue sous le nom de Mosquée de Mohammed Ali. Votre prochain arrêt sera le coloré Souk Khan El Khalili. Le déjeuner sera servi dans un restaurant local avant de vous diriger vers le Caire copte. Votre guide vous accompagnera à El Muallaqa, la Hanging Church, construite dans les murs de la forteresse romaine de Babylone. Vous vous rendrez ensuite à la synagogue de Ben Ezra du XIXe siècle, à l&#8217;église Sainte-Barbara et à l&#8217;église Abu Serga. Après l&#8217;excursion, vous serez ramené à votre hôtel.</p>


Le Caire chrétien et islamique

<p>Le matin, un représentant de Lady Egypt viendra vous rencontrer à votre hôtel au Caire et vous accompagnera à l&#8217;aéroport, d&#8217;où vous prendrez un vol pour Louxor, une ville vieille de 4 000 ans, le plus grand musée en plein air du monde. À votre arrivée, nous vous conduirons au complexe du temple de Karnak, une vaste zone comprenant des temples, des chapelles, des pylônes et le Grand Temple d&#8217;Amon. La prochaine étape sera la Vallée des Rois. Vous visiterez plusieurs anciennes tombes, puis vous vous rendrez au temple funéraire de la reine Hatchepsout dans la Vallée des Reines. Ensuite, vous vous dirigerez vers un restaurant local pour le déjeuner. Si notre programme le permet, vous aurez quelques heures de temps libre.</p>
