Jour 2 Highlights of the day: Cairo | Giza Pyramids, Egyptian Museum & Coptic Cairo

Today you will be transported back to the time of the ancient Egyptians. Our friendly guide will accompany you to the awe-inspiring Pyramids and Sphinx at Giza. After lunch at a local restaurant, you will enjoy the legendary treasures of the Egyptian Museum. Take a look at some of the most exquisite and ancient artefacts and statues in history. Then onto the Coptic Cairo to visit the Hanging Church, built on the ruins of two towers of the Roman fortress of Babylon, followed by St. Sergius Church which is said to be the hiding place for the Holy Family, The Synagogue, Church of Santa Barbara, Abu Seifein, then back to hotel, dinner & overnight Cairo

Jour 3 Highlights of the day : Cairo

In the morning a visit of The Church of Al Adra Al Adawia, Then to Churches of Maadi & Matariya and visit the Church of Virgin Mary to which millions of pilgrims come for The Tree of Virgin Mary. Tradition tells that the trunk of that tree protected them from those who were persecuting them. Then onto Mostorod. a cascade of miraculous water flowed which enabled the family to drink and wash the clothes of baby Jesus. In the afternoon departure to the Delta of the Nile to see a part of the trip of the Holy Family in Egypt in Sakha and Tal Basta, return to Cairo and transfer to the hotel.

Jour 4 Highlights of the day : Cairo - Aswan l Philae Temple - High Dam

Breakfast followed by check out. Transfer to airport, by flight to Aswan and upon arrival to Aswan, transfer to a Nile cruise and embarkation followed by a visit of the Philae Temple dedicated to the Goddess Isis is currently located. Proceed to the Old Dam built in 1899-1902 and then visit the masterpiece of modern Engineering ? the High Dam constructed between 1960-1970 in order to protect the city from floods, generate hydroelectricity and irrigate agricultural fields. Go exploring Aswan’s famous markets in the evening. Lunch & dinner on board and Overnight.

Jour 5 Highlights of the day : Kom Ombo ? Edfu

Breakfast followed by Sail to Kom Ombo, visit temple of Kom Ombo, which was dedicated mainly to Sobek and Horus; however, some of their family members were part of the temple?s dedication as well. The Southern portion of the temple was not just dedicated to Sobek, the god of fertility, but also to Hathor, the goddess of love and joy, and Khonsu, the god of the moon. Sail to Edfu Visit Horus Temple located on the West bank of the Nile in Edfu, an incredibly well-preserved monument to one of Ancient Egypt?s most important deities, Horus worshipped as the child of Isis and Osiris, Horus was depicted with the head – and often the body – of a falcon and was the ruler of the skies and the deity of the pharaohs. Jour 6 Highlights of the day : Luxor

Breakfast and crossing the Nile to visit the West Bank and head to the Valley of the Kings with its numerous tombs and chambers. Only fifteen tombs out of 63 are open for public, among them are those granted to Tutankhamun, Thutmose III, Ramesses I and Seti II. You will pass by the village of ancient workers at Deir El Madina, the Temple of Madinet Habou dedicated to Ramesses III and massive twin statues depicting the Pharaoh Amenhotep III widely known as the Colossi of Memnon. Move to the Valley of the Queens to explore the colonnaded Mortuary Temple of Queen Hatshepsut, where you can learn the tale of the divine birth of the first female king. Night visit to Luxor Temple & visit of Karnak Temple Complex. Lunch & dinner and overnight on board.

Jour 7 Highlights of the day : Asuit - Minya

Disembarkation after breakfast, followed by coach ride to the north, following the Nile until reaching Asiut to visit the monastery of Al Moharrak., according to tradition, it is the place where the Holy Family stayed the longest period of 6 months and 10 days, where they lived in a cave. Jour 8 Highlights of the day : Minya - Cairo

Breakfast and check out, a visit of Minya?s Monastery of the Virgin located on Mount Gabal El Teir, which means “mountain of the birds”, but it is also known as (El Kaf), because, according to Coptic tradition, Jesus extended his hand to prevent a rock from falling on the Holy Family, leaving his hand engraved on the rock. Jour 9 Highlights of the day : Wadi Natrun

Breakfast and departure by coach to Wadi Natrun (120 KM northwest of Cairo) according to tradition, the place was blessed by Jesus Christ and the Virgin Mary. After breakfast, start the day at Mt. Of Olives to enjoy the panoramic view over the Old City and Temple Mount. On to Gethsemane, where Jesus spent the night before his arrest. Then on to Mt. Zion inside the Old City to visit the King David’s Tomb & Room of the Last Supper. See the Western Wall & Via Dolorosa, along which Jesus walked bowed under the weight of the Cross- continue to the Church of Holy Sepulchre. Afternoon visit to the Garden Tomb. Return to hotel in Jerusalem for dinner and overnight.

Jour 13Highlights of the day : Jerusalem

After breakfast, enjoy a city tour of West Jerusalem including Parliament Hill. Visit the Holocaust Museum ?Yad Vashem?. After early breakfast, drive to Caesarea, to see the Roman Theater and the Crusader Fortress. Drive to the Carmelite Monastery of Muhraqa on the Mount Carmel & hereafter visit Haifa. See the Bahia’s Gardens and see the Golden Dome of the Baha’i Temple. On to Hotel for dinner & overnight.

Jour 15Highlights of the day :Tiberias

After breakfast, start the day with a boat ride on Sea of Galilee & then visit the ancient Nof Alon Boat Museum. Continue to Capernaum to see the ruins of the ancient synagogue, the house of St. Peter and the settlement that is also said to be the place where Jesus lived. Then to the Church of Multiplications at Tabgha. Enjoy a St. Peter’s fish lunch (not included) before continuing to Mt. of Beautitudes, where Jesus was said to deliver the Sermon on the Mount. Afternoon visit to the Banias Springs & on to the Golan Heights. Return to Hotel for dinner & overnight.

Day 16Highlights of the day : Departure Israel ? Arrival Jordan

This morning transfer to the northern Sheikh Hussein border. Pass through border security measures. After meeting our local guide, we will travel south to the ancient Greco- Roman city of Jerash an amazing example of Roman civilization, and part of the original Decapolis (the ten big Roman cities of the East). The ancient city features theatres, churches, temples (Zeus and Artemis), a Nymphaeum and colonnaded streets. Later drive south to Amman where we stay for two nights Hotel in Amman. This evening dinner is included at hotel.

Day 17Highlights of the day : Amman

Today we explore Amman, the capital of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, known in ancient times as Rabbath ? Ammon and Philadelphia. Visit the famed Royal Automobile museum a famous collection created by King Hussein. Continue to the ancient Citadel, and Roman Theatre. Walk through downtown and old markets, and sample Habibah popular local sweets. Meet a local family in Amman for tea/coffee and discover more about life in Jordan. This evening we attend a local cooking class and dinner at Beit Sitti, and discover some of the delicious secrets of Jordanian cooking in an historic home.

Day 18Highlights of the day : Amman - Petra

Drive southwards along the Kings? Way to Petra. You?ll follow along a very ancient and strategic trading route which connected Egypt with Mesopotamia, Syria and Anatolia. As with the Edomite?s and Moabites, trade along this route gave the Ammonites considerable revenue. Our first stop today is Madaba famous for its ancient mosaic map of Jerusalem in the St George Church floor. Continue to Mt. Nebo and the alleged burial site of Moses overlooking the Dead Sea and the Jordan Valley; then drive through the magnificent scenery of Wadi Mujib to Kerak to visit the Crusader Castle.

Day 19Highlights of the day : Petra

The Nabataean Kingdom of Petra, became a client state for the Roman Empire in the first century BC, it was only in 106 AD that the city lost its independence when it was captured by the Romans who renamed Nabataea to Arabia Petra. Petra?s importance declined as sea trade routes emerged and after an AD 363 earthquake which destroyed many structures. It was gradually lost to civilization until rediscovered by the Swiss explorer, Burkhart. Today is one of the tour highlights as you explore this city that is carved into the rose-red Sharah Mountains. Continue into Petra to the Roman Theatre, the Courts, Qasr al-Bint Pharaoun, Temple of the Winged Lion and other monuments. Break for lunch at the Nabatean Tent Restaurant, a local restaurant run by the Bedouin of Petra. After lunch you may wish to climb up to the Monastery high above the base of Petra, or continue to explore other sites in Petra.

Day 20Highlights of the day : Petra ? Dead Sea

Today we farewell Petra and drive north to the Dead Sea. This afternoon is at leisure, perhaps experience a unique ?float? in the Dead Sea. This amazing site which is 306 metres below sea level is renowned for its therapeutic qualities.

Day 21:Highlights of the day : Departure

Rest up this morning before early afternoon we head to the Amman International Airport, and join our flight of departure.

L'Égypte offre une grande variété d'hôtels 3*. Les prix varient de 12$ à 20$ par personne et par nuit en chambre double. Je vous proposer de visiter les répertoires des hôtels pour les tarifs et les emplacements. Les hébergements pour les routards ne sont pas populaires en Égypte, bien que quelques-uns soient disponibles.

QUELLE EST LA MEILLEURE PERIODE (HAUTE SAISON) POUR VISITER L'ÉGYPTE POUR DES VACANCES ?

La meilleure période pour visiter l'Égypte est entre octobre et mai. C'est la haute saison des voyages, la température es plus basse, mais relativement plus chaude que dans l'hémisphère nord. C’est la haute saison avec deux périodes les plus attractives: Noël / Nouvel An et la fêtes de Pâques, pendant lesquelles les hôtels et les croisières augmenteront leurs prix. Cela peut signifier que certains hôtels deviennent remarquablement chers, il est donc fortement conseillé de faire vos réservations très tôt, même pour les hôtels à bas prix. Les 4 autres mois sont la basse saison. De mai à septembre, les températures sont très élevées, notamment en Haute-Égypte (Louxor et le sud du pays). Ceci dit, cette période vous offre l’opportunité de découvrir l'Égypte en toute tranquillité et ce en ayant l'avantage de visiter les sites sans les foules des écoliers et des touristes.

QUELLE EST LA MEILLEURE GESTION BUDGÉTAIRE POUR VOYAGER A TRAVERS L’ÉGYPTE ?

Even though we arrange tours… the best BUDGET way is to do it yourself.
It is easier to sit back, have someone make all arrangements for you and just zip, worry-free from place to place (and some people wouldn’t do it any other way; it is a vacation after all LOL). But if you’re willing to put in the work, are flexible, easily adaptable, easy going and you’re willing to deal with haggling etc. it is not impossible to do Egypt without an operator.
In 10 days you can definitely visit three cities. You can even add Aswan in there. For most first-time visitors, 2 days in Cairo is enough. It is an overwhelming city, especially if you’re going about on your own.
If you’re going to do this yourself, I suggest at least securing ground transportation for the day. That can be a hired private car or taxi but you don’t want to be wasting time flagging down and haggling with taxis at every turn. Having pre-arranged transport will take lots of the hassle out of doing things yourself. Having a good guide book is essential but if you can, book a guide or two to break up the monotony and really help with understanding the sites and bringing them to life. There are many good budget hotels in Luxor, Cairo and Aswan, which can be booked on sites such as hostelworld.com. You pre-pay 10% of the booking when it’s made and then pay the rest on arrival. The hostels do tours as well.

QUELS SONT LES MEILLEURS CIRCUITS POUR DÉCOUVRIR L'ÉGYPTE ?

Passez quelques nuits au Caire, prenez le train de nuit pour Assouan, passez encore deux nuits là-bas, visitez Abou Simbel et le Temple de Philæ, peut-être aussi Kôm Ombo.
