If you are looking for a change this Christmas, a swap from the wet and cold weather to a golden, sunny weather… then this trip is for you! Spend your Christmas morning on the beach soaking up the sun while listening to the soothing waves.
There is absolutely nothing that this tour leaves out. I am of course exaggerating yet it truly gives you a big whiff of all that this country puts forth. Come and view the Pyramids, the Sphinx and the Egyptian Museum in Cairo. Take in the magnificent temple of Abu Simbel (transfer by bus), view the romantic and well preserved Philae Temple in Aswan, the twin temples of Kom Ombo and the Edfu temple, bask in the sunset sun and partake of a Bedouin dinner in Hurghada by the coast and check out the green oasis of Fayoum encircled by the desert. Then head to Wadi El Rayan and behold Lake Qaroun in the midst of the desert and visit Tunis Village which is a potters haven. Today is your first day to be amazed at the sights Egypt holds in store for you. Our first stop will be the 3 Pyramids of Giza. Behold the Khufu, the biggest of them all and then take in the indomitable Sphinx, way too regal in his stance guarding the Pyramids. We shall then take a ride toward the repository of the richest hold of Pharaonic treasures there is on this earth. You will take in the most brilliant jewels, artifacts and funerary decorations you have ever seen. It is just dazzling. And then, of course, there are the mummies, oh what fun. The evening is yours. Day 4Included Trip to the Massive Temple Rock Abu Simbel – Nile Cruise

Good morning. Enjoy your breakfast before checking out of the hotel. A new day, a new adventure. It’s on to the magnificent and otherworldly temple of Abu Simbel. In an air-conditioned vehicle, we will make our way by road (3 hour trip one way) to the temple. Commemorating Ramses II and his victory at the battle of Kadesh, the temples are a miracle of engineering as twice a year, the inner sanctuary receives the sunbeams that light up three of the 4 sculptures. This incredible, hard to believe feat will keep the God of Darkness Ptah in obscurity. Back in Aswan, you will board your 5-star cruise ship. The rest of the day is yours. As an option, you might want to enjoy the spectacular Sound and Light Show at the Philae temple. Overnight on board. (All meals included)

Day 5Kom Ombo – Edfu

Today will take us to two other temples. We shall be sailing towards Kom Ombo and there we will visit the temple, shared by two deities, Sobek the crocodile god and Haroeris the sun god. We will partake of lunch on board as we sail to Edfu for a visit of its temple. Later on we shall be sailing on to Luxor throughout the night. Dinner on board. Cruise party tonight!!! Overnight on board. (All meals included)

Day 6 Luxor “The Open Air Museum” -West Bank in Luxor

Good morning. Today we are in for an early start in order to avoid the sultry hot sun of noontime. After an early breakfast, you will head out to the West bank, taking in the ghostly Valley of the Kings, filled with the spirits of the Pharaohs of days gone by. It is a truly weird experience. Just absorb the atmosphere as you walk along and go into some of the tombs. You will proceed to Deir el Bahari and walk down the colonnaded avenue of Queen Hatshepsut’s temple. Then walk along and feel tiny next to the towering Colossi of Memnon. Lunch will be on board the cruise ship and then the afternoon is yours. Relax and take in some more of the city of Luxor or as an option, we can arrange a hot-air balloon ride for you if you wish. From up above, you will have an indescribable view of the whole city, looking down upon its vastness and pondering on its story. The evening is free. Dinner will be on board. Overnight on board cruise ship. (All meals included)

Day 7Luxor & East bank - Travel to Hurghada - Red Sea

Sabal el kheir. After breakfast, we will go on to take in the temple complex of Karnak, rich in temples, chapels, pylons, and other buildings. It is truly vast. Then we visit the Luxor temple. After you are finished, you will transfer to Hurghada or Ghardaqa in the local language. A most interesting ride that will get you to one of our most renowned resort towns on the Red Sea, home to scuba diving par excellence if you lean that way. So we check you into your hotel upon arrival and leave you to enjoy the rest of the day. Remember our agents are just nearby to make all your wishes come true. Consult with them to your heart’s content about all the little things that will make you even happier than you already are. Overnight at your Hurghada hotel. (Breakfast and dinner)

Day 8 Hurghada - Red Sea – Bedouin Dinner

This day is yours. How would you like to spend it? Diving, snorkeling, taking a glass-bottomed boat out to spy on the coral reefs? You name it, we can arrange it. This afternoon, we will pick you up to take you on to a special Bedouin dinner. We start off by taking a 4×4 safari ride to the Bedouin camp, then proceed in climbing on camels to go for a short ride to watch the sunset and have a BBQ dinner Bedouin style. Overnight in Hurghada hotel. (Breakfast and dinner)

Day 9 Cairo - Hurghada

Sabah el kheir. You are going back to Cairo this morning. After breakfast, we will accompany you to the airport where you will board a flight back to Cairo. There once checked in, the rest of the day/evening is yours unless you choose one of the optional city tours: Cairo city tour which includes Coptic and Islamic Cairo or the Khan el Khalili Bazaar if you haven’t seen it yet. Check them out and others on our list. Overnight at Cairo hotel. (Breakfast

Day 10 Fayoum - Wadi El Rayan - Cairo

Oh wow. This huge Oasis is merely two hours away from the city and hides its beauty so well, you would never suspect it holds such wonder when you are approaching it. Fayoum is enormously rich archeological sites from different eras, has a history in pottery making and is blessed with plenty of natural treasures. First, we shall enjoy a visit to the ancient ruin of the city of Karanis, known also as Kom Aushim dating back to Greco-Roman times. Then it’s on to the Water Wheels ( said to number 200) dating back to the Ptolemaic era and takes in Lake Qarun or Birket Qarun in Arabic, Moeris in Greek is considered the oldest natural lake in the world. It is a saltwater latke having been a freshwater later in prehistory. Is that not amazing? And so we go on now to Qasr Qaroun, where the ancient town of Dionysias was located and the Temple of Stone still stands. We shall then go on to survey Wadi el Rayan in the western desert, a unique nature protectorate, with its freshwater lakes and stunning dunes made for skidding in a 4×4. We will finish off the tour with a visit to Tunis village, home to the very well known potters of Fayoum. Back to Cairo for the night. Overnight in Cairo hotel. (Lunch en-route)

Optional: Sandboarding/Dinner in the village of Tunis

Day 11 Departure

This is goodbye. Make sure your Fayoum pottery is packed in bubbles, you have all your souvenirs put away and your memories intact in your pocket. Frequently Asked Questions

Egypt offers a wide variety of 3-star hotels. The prices range from $12 to $20 per person per night in a double room. I would suggest you check hotel directories for rates and locations. Backpacker services are not popular in Egypt, although a few are available.

The best time to visit Egypt is from October to May. It is the peak travel season, temperatures are milder though comparatively warmer than in the northern hemisphere. This is our High-Season with its two busiest periods: the Christmas/New Year period and the Easter Period, whereby hotels and cruises will put their prices up. This can mean that some hotels become really expensive, so making your reservations very early, even for the budget hotels, is strongly advised. The other 4 months are the low-season so to speak. May to September are the height of Egyptian summer, with very high temperatures, especially in Upper Egypt (Luxor and the southern parts of the country). However, this is the time for you to see Egypt in virtual peace and quiet, giving you the advantage of seeing the sites without any hassle either from school children or crowds of tourists.

Even though we arrange tours… the best BUDGET way is to do it yourself.
It is easier to sit back, have someone make all arrangements for you and just zip, worry-free from place to place (and some people wouldn’t do it any other way; it is a vacation after all LOL). But if you’re willing to put in the work, are flexible, easily adaptable, easy going and you’re willing to deal with haggling etc. it is not impossible to do Egypt without an operator.
In 10 days you can definitely visit three cities. You can even add Aswan in there. For most first-time visitors, 2 days in Cairo is enough. It is an overwhelming city, especially if you’re going about on your own.
If you’re going to do this yourself, I suggest at least securing ground transportation for the day. That can be a hired private car or taxi but you don’t want to be wasting time flagging down and haggling with taxis at every turn. Having pre-arranged transport will take lots of the hassle out of doing things yourself. Having a good guide book is essential but if you can, book a guide or two to break up the monotony and really help with understanding the sites and bringing them to life. There are many good budget hotels in Luxor, Cairo and Aswan, which can be booked on sites such as hostelworld.com. You pre-pay 10% of the booking when it’s made and then pay the rest on arrival. The hostels do tours as well.
If you’re a student, be sure to bring your ISIC card for 50% discount on tickets to the sites.
If you decide you need help arranging all or part of the trip, don’t hesitate to contact us.

Spend a couple of nights in Cairo, take the sleeper-train to Aswan, spend another two nights there while visiting Abu Simbel and the Philae Temple, maybe Kom Ombo too. Then you can take a cruise down the Nile to Luxor, spend two nights visiting the Valleys of the Kings and Queens and the Karnak Temple Complex. Then you can return to Cairo and from there head to a Red Sea resort, either on the Sinai Peninsula or the coast, for a few nights.

The high-season is October to May, making June to September (the summer months and the hottest) the low-season and therefore prices are at their lowest.

It has never been a problem, however you have to put up sometimes with annoying verbal harassment and this happens to Egyptian women as well. The best thing is to ignore and go on. It can sometimes get really irritating but reacting does not work. There is nothing forbidden in Egypt. You do not need to cover up or anything of the sort, yet to avoid drawing unnecessary attention to yourself, do please cover your shoulders and cleavage and do not wear shorts. It is just a matter of feeling comfortable and fitting in. Best footwear are sneakers as there is a lot of walking and it is dusty and sometimes the streets are in poor condition and dirty.

The ones recommended are: Yellow Fever (common to most parts of Africa), Tetanus and Hepatitis. Otherwise, just take the usual precautions when travelling to hot parts of the world. Drink bottled water, avoiding ice and unless you are in a well-known hotel and restaurant, avoid eating uncooked greens. Avoid roadside food stands. Bring a good insect repellent as the evenings might be full of mosquitoes. At all cost, avoid contact with street dogs, rabies is still a risk in Egypt. Make sure you have condoms on you, they are also available in all pharmacies. Carry a small medical kit for your needs, with painkillers and diarrhea tablets at hand at all times. We also advise you to carry a travel insurance.

On Organizing your Trip – Alone or in a couple or with friends and you wish to organize everything yourself, please let the hotel know of your plans before leaving. Should you get lost, the hotel will be able to act on your behalf. Also arm yourself with hotel address and telephone number, always, as you may need it. Be aware that you might be ripped-off. Like many tourist destinations, Egypt has its “wolves”, preying on unsuspecting, trustful travelers. Often the total cost will be more than if you had arranged it through a travel agent or your hotel and a lot less enjoyable.

On independent travel, for a first timer it is not advised. It much better to take a guide. You don’t need to book a package tour, groups can be arranged here. First and foremost, prepare yourself for a culture shock. Many seasoned travelers arrive and find it is unlike any other country they have previously visited.

On Dining Out, first time travelers are at a loss. It is best to seek out a hotel chain or a well-reviewed restaurant (ask around if you can) then you can be assured to get good, clean food. The price will be worth it. Never drink tap water! Wash and shower with it, but do not drink it.

On the Egyptian Language- Learn the basic words: La’ (no) and shukran (thank you). You will be needing them.

On Transportation – Taxis are a problem as they do not have a counter and pricing can be very tricky. Best is to use Uber or Careem or else have your hotel get you a cab and negotiate the price before you go on your ride.

In general, always take a bottle of water on your expedition. The heat will get to you.

Always carry local currency as it will make your life easier, especially when paying for groceries, taxis, touristic venues, museums and souvenirs. In big shops, restaurants and hotels you may use your credit cards.

On Tips – If you feel generous enough to tip one child, then expect to be followed by a hoard of others expecting to be tipped as well. Make sure you have a lot of small bills for such ventures as tipping is sort of expected and even the smallest bill (one pound) will be welcomed.

On Photography – Taking photos inside many temples is restricted, so please follow the advice of your guide and the keeper of the sites. In some places, please be aware that the government will charge you for taking photographs. Due to new policies put in place by the Ministry of Tourism, cameras are not permitted at all in the Valley of the Kings. Please exercise caution and respect when taking photographs of anything other than tourist sites. It is forbidden to take photographs of the police, anything of a military nature or indeed bridges, airports and public works. Respect should be given to Egyptian women, use discretion. Always ask permission before taking photos of people and expect to be asked for a tip in return.

On Clothing – Upon visiting mosques, please dress conservatively, i.e. half/long sleeved shirt and no shorts. In public areas, this would also be our advice. However, in some touristic areas such as the seaside, it perfectly fine to wear shorts and sleeveless shirts. Please remember to remove your footwear upon stepping into a mosque.

On Health – Bring a supply of your medication if you take any on a regular basis as well as a copy of your prescription. However, please be assured that your hotel or our staff will find you a specialized doctor should the need arise.

Egypt’s national airline is Egypt Air. Most major international airlines fly to Cairo.

Lady Egypt Tours
When I was looking to travel to Egypt for the first time, I knew not where to ask about a tour operator so I resorted to the internet. I usually travel indepently and have done so to Morocco, Israel, the West Bank and Jordan in the area but I was unfamiliar with Egypt. Anyway, Lady Egypt caught my eye because of their consistently excellent reviews and I must now add mine to the list..
Arrival was quick and smooth, with the company’s representative, Islam, holding a sign with our clearly printed names greeting us right at the entrance to the terminal before whisking us to a quick check-in for a good night’s rest. Our guides, Mohamed El-Zawahry in Cairo and Ahmed Aboudi in Upper Egypt, were knowledgable Egyptologists with a wonderful sense of humor. No request was too difficult for Lady Egypt to accommodate. When we wanted to add El Alamein to our itinerary the day after we arrived, it was organized spur of the moment and without a hitch. A decision to remain at the Mena House hotel instead of switching to another one for our last few days in Cairo was arranged without penalty despite its abruptness. The itinerary was modified as we went along to make adjustments for traffic and other conditions such as the weather. The 12 days could not have gone more smoothly (Islam discreetly kept daily tab of how we were doing from the home office). The amount of knowledge shared by our guides was so informative that I swear by the time I boarded the plane for home I could among many things trace the many traditions that we have adopted today to their origins in ancient Egypt and that I must have at least a working knowledge of hieroglyphics!
Oh and by the way, when Islam heard that while on the Nile cruise we had shown an interest in the Egyptian dessert Om Ali, he presented us each on our return with a tray from Twinky Patisserie in Giza, who after having tried it in different places I have concluded to make the best in town!
Lady Egypt it is–without reservations!

The PERFECT Way to Experience Egypt!
My husband and I spent 11 days and 10 nights touring the wonderful cities and sights of Cairo, Aswan, Luxor, and Hurghada for our honeymoon.

From start to finish, our experience with Lady Egypt was seamless. The staff went above and beyond to accommodate us and make our trip enjoyable. Our tour leader, Khalifa, and each of our tour guides (Mohammed, Mahmoud, and Shareef) were all exceptionally knowledgeable, friendly, and warm. At the end of each tour, we felt as if they were our good friends! I also want to acknowledge Nahla in the Sales Department for crafting the perfect itinerary for us and assisting us through each step of the booking process.

Visiting Egypt was a lifelong dream of ours, and we are so thrilled to be able to now say that we’ve checked it off our bucket list! Some of the highlights of the trip included watching the sunrise from a hot air balloon ride over Luxor, snorkeling in the Red Sea, and stunning views of temples, tombs, and pyramids.

I truly can’t say enough good things about Lady Egypt Tours. We loved every minute of our time here and cannot wait to return to this beautiful country again one day! Thank you SO MUCH for making our honeymoon an incredible and memorable one. ❤️

For the 2nd year Lady Egypt Tours makes our vacation unforgettable. The representative that I was working with was beyond patient when I requested information on 10+ different hotels and asked 101 questions. She arranged all transportation needed before I even asked. We had a tour guide with us each time we moved from one place to the other. They literally did everything while had us seated with a cold refreshing drink in our hands. When I had an annoying situation at one of the hotel I called my representative and she took care of it. Even the tour guide who picked us up from Hurghada Airport was very helpful. Talked to us about all the important highlights on the way to the hotel and was always there whenever we needed anything. Lady Egypt Tours made everything as easy as a click of a button.
Thank you Lady Egypt and Thank you to each and everyone who took the extra step to make this UNFORGETTABLE.

Treated like Royalty with Lady Egypt Tours
Review of: 8-Night Cairo, Aswan and Luxor Explorer Tour from Cairo
From the planning with Nahla, to when we were handed our boarding passes when we left Cairo to head home, we were treated as If we were the only customer they had. It is difficult to pick out just one guide or representative that we dealt with, because they all had the same attitude, make this trip unforgettable for these people. From their extensive knowledge of their guides, to their extensive network of people on the ground, and their unfailing coordination in all aspects of this trip, it was second to none. We felt completely safe and comfortable at all times and would definitely recommend Lady Egypt for any once, or twice, in a lifetime experience . The Egyptian weather was pleasant, low 80’s in April, and the Egyptian people were very pleasant.
Don’t let being nervous prevent you from experiencing the Land of The Pharaohs, It is awesome!
