Temples of Kom Ombo and Edfu
Our agent will pick you up either from your hotel in Aswan or your cruise boat. The drive to Kom Ombo is some 47 km northwards. Once there, we will guide you through this double sided temple, the southern side dedicated to Sobek the crocodile god and the northern side to Haroeris, the falcon god, also known as Horus the Elder. Don’t forget, the gods sometimes appeared as different manifestations of themselves. It is quite a sight with magnificent reliefs depicting the lithurgies of the time.
Afterwards, we will go to Edfu temple dedicated to Horus, the falcon god. Oh this place is imbued with a tale of violence, as the legend goes that here Horus killed Set, god of the storms, disorder and violence, who had murdered Horus’s father Osiris. Vengeance at its best!
Once you’ve had your fill of drama, our representative will drop you back in Aswan.
